Job summary

ShopRite of Fair Lawn is seeking a Cake Decorator to support the Bakery Manager with daily operations, including baking, dough mixing, icing, packaging, filling, and decorating of pastry and bread items. The role emphasizes neatness, safety, and quality in a busy bakery environment.

You will follow recipes, handle food products, and adhere to QA standards while delivering friendly customer service in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, speak English and understand basic instructions.
Ability to assist the Bakery Manager.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in varying temperatures.
Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks, and slicing machines.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
Maintain department sanitation and QA standards (safety, personal hygiene, clean cases, and equipment).
Prepare trays to Company’s and Customer’s satisfaction.
Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color.
Rotate all merchandise to ensure freshness.
