Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products—bakery items and store products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipes using kitchen utensils.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Use kitchen equipment safely (stove, scales, freezers).
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Navigate store layout to locate products for customers.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain inventory stock awareness and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Notify management of accidents and safety issues.
