Job summary

Panera Bread in Indianapolis is seeking a General Manager to lead our bakery-cafe with energy and warmth, owning operations and driving guest satisfaction. You will hire, train, and coach a team while managing staffing, scheduling, and budgets to achieve extraordinary service.

You will uphold Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors, maintain safety and quality standards, and build lasting relationships with guests and the local community. Flexible hours and strong business acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years GM experience in a restaurant.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bakery-cafe team, including staffing, scheduling, people development, performance management and succession planning.
• Hire, onboard, and train new team members while motivating and celebrating the team.
• Manage performance to meet goals, standards, and exceptional guest service expectations.
• Develop managers on process and Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors.
• Follow procedures to ensure strategies and initiatives are executed successfully.
• Ensure guest satisfaction with food, service, and staff.
• Maintain safe, healthy workplace and compliance with regulations.
• Manage costs and inventory; support cost-control initiatives.
