Job summary

Panera LLC in Chicago, IL seeks a General Manager to lead the beloved bakery-cafe team and own overall operations, staffing decisions, and guest satisfaction. You will drive performance, coach staff, and uphold Panera’s values in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage costs, ensure safety and quality, and build a culture of warmth and belonging while delivering exceptional guest experiences across shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of restaurant General Manager experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Background check required for the position.
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven ability to run great shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery-cafe team with staffing, scheduling, people development, and succession planning.
• Hire, onboard, and train new team members while motivating and celebrating the entire team.
• Manage performance to meet goals, standards and guest service expectations.
• Develop managers on people processes and Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure guest delight through food, service, and staff quality.
• Build relationships to create long-term, loyal guests.
• Ensure compliance with policies and local regulations.
• Maintain a healthy, safe workplace and control costs and inventory.
