Job summary

Panera is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Suffolk, VA to lead a neighborhood bakery-cafe to sweet success. You will partner with the General Manager, oversee operations, delight guests daily, and drive business growth while hiring, training, and developing your team.

You will work to maintain Panera's high standards of quality, food safety, and customer service. The role requires flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and a focus on coaching and team engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager by making key decisions and problem solving.
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members while motivating and celebrating the team.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining quality standards and exceptional service.
• Develop managers on processes and Panera's Guiding Values & Behaviors.
• Maintain costs and inventory to support bakery-cafe profitability.
