Job summary

Safeway's bakery team seeks a detail-oriented baker to produce breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts from established recipes. You will measure, mix, shape, bake, and decorate items while maintaining a clean, stocked display and safe work area.

You will also assist customers, handle special orders, and work closely with teammates to meet daily production needs in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must provide friendly, timely customer service and handle requests
• Experience with baking breads, pastries, and desserts using recipes and measurements
• Follow recipes accurately and maintain quality and presentation standards
• Prioritize tasks, maintain clean and orderly workspace, follow production schedules

Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts using established recipes and methods
• Measure, mix, shape, and bake products; decorate cakes and specialty items
• Organize a clean, safe work area; rotate and label ingredients; stock cases to look appealing
• Assist customers, answer questions, take special orders, provide friendly service
• Collaborate with bakery team to plan daily production and keep operations running smoothly
