Job summary

Gerrity's Supermarkets is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to support the Bakery Manager in daily operations and ensure excellent customer service. You will manage inventory, pricing, display and rotation of bakery products while maintaining quality and sanitation standards.

The role requires 18+ years of age, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, basic math, and strong English reading/writing skills. A dependable, team‑oriented mindset and adherence to safety and dress code policies are

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to calculate figures and amounts.
• No minimum educational requirement needed.
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word.
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distant and color vision.
• Must stand and perform physical tasks during shift.
• Proficiency reading/writing English.

Responsibilities

• Competent and working knowledge of all Essential Functions for all department positions.
• Assist in maintaining and controlling supplies, inventory and shrink.
• Assist in procedures for invoices, transfers, inventories and ordering.
• Assist with ordering sufficient quantities of raw materials for production while maintaining proper retail pricing.
• Responsible for product quality and freshness and proper rotation.
• Direct stocking, display and rotation of bakery products in customer area.
• Direct seasonal items, sale items and demand items display.
• Coordinate communication with Bakery Manager and subordinates.
• Maintain sanitary department in customer area, cases/coolers and back room.
• Maintain freezer stocking and products as required.
• Complete and submit shrink reports.
• Apply food prep knowledge and procedures.
• Be present at workstation at start of shift and adhere to safety policies.
• Adhere to Dress Code and Customer Service Pledge.
• Attend work as essential to department function.
