Job summary

Gerrity's Supermarkets in Northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a Baker to support the Bakery Manager and ensure high standards of customer service. You will perform duties across the bakery, with emphasis on dough preparation and pastry finishing, while upholding sanitation and safety procedures.

You should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and meet basic requirements such as age 18 and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand.
• Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough for oven.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bakery case, prep area, floors, coolers and work area.
• Inspect equipment to ensure operational performance and preventative maintenance.
• Assist in finishing and filling donuts and other pastries, pies and cakes as required.
• Cooperate with other departments for promotions.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and dress code compliance.
• Attend to workstation at shift start and comply with policies.
