Job summary

Northgate Gonzalez Market in Riverside, CA is seeking entry-level bakery team members to learn how to produce bakery goods efficiently, following company policy. You will help ensure the shift contributes to the store’s financial well-being and learn essential baking techniques.

You will work under the bakery team leader, follow recipes, learn weights and temperatures, and maintain sanitation and inventory controls.

Qualifications

• Must know how to calculate percentages and ratios when measuring ingredients in dough mixtures and recipes for varying quantities or amounts.
• Hear, speak and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance and communicate with customers and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language effectively to read and understand operating instructions, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers when encountered.
• Notify department manager of maintenance or equipment issues.
• Maintain clear communications within the department.
• Monitor safety and report abnormal behavior.
• Follow local health and safety regulations.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting merchandise.
• Rotate stock using FIFO principles.
• Learn bakery basics: weighing, mixing, and baking.
• Operate mixer and bakery equipment.
• Follow company recipes.
