Job summary

Northgate Gonzalez Market is seeking a dedicated baker to support our bakery team in Southern California. You will prepare dough, measure ingredients, and operate ovens and mixers to produce bread and pastries.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of bakery experience, a high school education or equivalent preferred, and strong reading and communication skills in English. We offer flexible schedules, opportunities for growth, and an associate discount for you and your household.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred, but not absolutely required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in full bakery operations and procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language effectively to follow instructions and safety notices.
• Able to calculate percentages and ratios when measuring ingredients in dough mixtures and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all dough and scratch baking mixtures according to recipes.
• Pan up and bake bread and pastries in ovens at appropriate temperatures and times.
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain general housekeeping and comply with health regulations and safety policies.
• Greet customers and maintain a neat, professional appearance in the bakery.
