Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is looking for an Apprentice Baker to help create delicious pastries and assist guests with their orders. You will learn all aspects of the Bakery Department and support cake decorating efforts while growing with the team.

You’ll start with foundational baker duties and be encouraged to build leadership potential, culinary vision, and a passion for presenting high-quality products to customers.

Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months of bakery experience.
• Willingness to learn bakery and cake decorating duties.
• Ability to work early morning shifts and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Bake prepared and scratch products for bakery cases and displays.
• Prepare products and form to specifications according to scratch recipes.
• Provide exemplary customer service and assist guests in locating items.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in all bakery areas.
• Assist in maintaining bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer operations.
