Our Apprentice Baker plays a vital role in ensuring our pastries look and taste exceptional. Alongside providing outstanding guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious baked goods for our guests, making their parties memorable. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality bakery products to meet customer needs and building loyalty through excellent service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. It is ideal for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience who is eager to grow.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in Bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare and form products according to recipes.
• Bake products using specified time and temperature.
• Insert products into proof box, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
• Manage freezer storage to preserve product freshness.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling and provide samples when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety in all work aspects for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers, helping locate products, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work area, and storage spaces to meet sanitation standards.
• Bake and rotate bakery products, ensuring freshness and proper dating.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their purposes in baked goods.
• Prepare ingredients for baking, including following recipes.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom efficiency.
• Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
