Uncle Giuseppe's Gourmet Bakery in New York seeks an experienced Baker to craft a wide range of fresh-baked goods, from pastries to custom cakes, ensuring top quality and presentation.

You will join a fast-paced, quality-driven team with a focus on excellence, working early mornings and weekends. You will maintain safety standards, production records, and provide warm, friendly service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary baking education or training is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on baking experience.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and presentation.
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to quality.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Must read/write/speak English clearly.
• Able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of baked goods including pies, cookies, pastries, cakes and more.
• Conduct quality checks on ingredients and final products.
• Interact with customers, take custom orders and process payments.
• Maintain production records, inventory and special orders.
• Ensure client orders are fulfilled correctly and delivered on time.
• Clean and restock workstations, maintain a sanitary environment.
• Support bakery team with additional tasks as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Prepare a variety of baked goods including pies, cookies, pastries, cakes, and more using mixers, ovens, blenders, and other baking equipment
2. Conduct quality checks on ingredients and final products to maintain food safety and excellence standards
3. Interact with customers by answering questions, taking custom orders, processing payments, and delivering warm, friendly service
4. Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and special orders
5. Ensure all client orders are fulfilled correctly and delivered on time
6. Clean and restock workstations, maintaining a safe, organized, and sanitary work environment
7. Support the bakery team with additional tasks and duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Formal baking education or training from a culinary school or bakery program is a plus
3. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on baking experience in a professional setting
4. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and presentation for cakes, breads, pastries, and other specialty baked goods
5. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
6. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to consistency and quality
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
8. Must be able to speak, read, and communicate clearly in English
9. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
