Job summary

Sullivan University is seeking a part-time Baker for The Bakery. The successful candidate will bake a variety of items including pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts, using icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance presentation with efficiency and care.

Hours are Monday 7 am–1 pm, Tuesday–Friday 10 am–3 pm. The role requires passion for baking, high quality standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of from-scratch baking, pastry, or restaurant setting experience.
• Cake decoration experience is beneficial.
• Experience in high-volume production environments.
• Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment: mixers, blenders, dough sheeters.
• Food safety practices knowledge; a Food Handler's Certificate is recommended or must be obtained within a specified time frame.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
• Proficient in reading and following recipes.
• Flexibility including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

We are currently looking for a part‑time Baker at The Bakery. This individual bakes a variety of baked goods, including but not limited to breakfast pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for baking and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness in the kitchen. This role involves using icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance the presentation of baked items with efficiency and care.
