Position Overview (Baker)

Polaris Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a dedicated and talented Baker to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality baked goods and assisting with food production to enhance the dining experience for our residents. As a Baker, you will play an important role in supporting resident satisfaction and quality of life by creating nutritious and appealing baked products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the dietary team to ensure residents receive exceptional service and enjoyable dining experiences every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods including breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts in accordance with approved recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure all food products are prepared, stored, and served in compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • Assist with menu preparation and special dietary requests under the direction of dietary leadership
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation to ensure resident satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, bakery, and food preparation areas
  • Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to facility safety procedures
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering recommendations for baking supplies and ingredients
  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and culinary team to support holiday meals, special events, and resident celebrations
  • Document food production, inventory usage, and waste according to facility procedures
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, and team members
  • Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines related to food service operations
Qualifications
  • Previous baking, food service, culinary, or dietary experience preferred but not required
  • Training provided for motivated candidates with a passion for baking and food preparation
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and dietary instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
