Job summary

Idle Hour Club in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Baker to join our from-scratch kitchen. Reporting to the Pastry Chef, you will assist with breads, cakes, and pastries from recipe to plate.

You will measure ingredients precisely, operate a commercial oven, prep items per daily BEOs, and maintain clean stations while monitoring inventory.

This role requires the ability to lift 50 lb and a willingness to take direction in a fast-paced banquet-focused environment.

Idle Hour Club is hiring a Baker. Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the Baker will assist in the preparation of breads/cakes/pastries/etc. in our from-scratch kitchen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Measure and mix ingredients precisely according to recipes
• Operate a commercial oven and monitor bake times
• Prep and bake items set by daily BEO’s (Banquet Event Order sheets)
• Maintain cleanliness of work stations and equipment
• Monitor inventory

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous baking experience with up to one-year commercial kitchen experience
• Basic bread dough procedural knowledge
• Knowledge of basic cakes, pastries, cookies, with experience decorating cakes and cookies
• Accuracy is a key to success (baking is chemistry)
• Must be willing and able to take direction
• Ability to lift #50 (think sacks of flour/sugar/etc.)
