Job summary

Great Western Dining Service, Inc. is seeking a Baker for our university location to prepare a wide range of baked goods from breads to pastries. Early morning shifts and a fast-paced environment are part of the role.

The ideal candidate has baking experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and cleanliness. You will work with a team to meet production deadlines, maintain sanitation records, and support menu development while upholding safety standards in a student-oriented

Qualifications

• Two years baking or bakery background required or preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or baking training preferred.
• Knowledge of yeasts and other pre-ferments encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Produce standard baked goods such as cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins and puddings.
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items as applicable.
• Unload, clean and operate mixers.
• Maintain all daily production, sanitation sheets and applicable forms to ensure procedures are met.
• Assist with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work area.
• Meet or exceed all HACCP sanitation and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

This role requires early morning shifts and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for producing standard baked goods such as cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins and various types of puddings
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items when applicable.
• Unload, clean and operate mixers
• Maintains all daily production, sanitation sheets and applicable forms to ensure all procedures are met
• Assists with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work area
• Meet or exceed all established HACCP sanitation and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines.
• Other duties as required & assigned

Skills And Qualifications

• One two years as a baker or a bakery background preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking training preferred.
• Knowledge of yeasts and other pre-ferments encouraged.
• Must be customer service oriented and enjoy working in a student-oriented environment.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• The ability to make desserts from scratch.
• Experienced in production line baking or food processing.
• Must be knowledgeable about proper food handling and safety guidelines.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for equipment and recipe production.
