Job summary

Polaris Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a dedicated Baker to join our Dietary Services team. You will prepare fresh baked goods and assist with menu planning to enhance resident dining experiences while safeguarding food safety.

Working closely with the dietary team, you’ll ensure quality, variety, and appealing presentation of items for residents, families, and staff in a caring, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous baking or dietary experience preferred but not required.
  • Training provided for motivated candidates with a passion for baking and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and dietary instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of baked goods including breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts per recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all food products are prepared, stored, and served in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with menu preparation and special dietary requests under dietary leadership.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and bakery areas.
  • Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently per safety procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering for baking supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and culinary team for events and resident celebrations.
  • Document production, inventory usage, and waste according to procedures.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, and team members.
  • Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines related to food service.

Position Overview (Baker)

Polaris Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a dedicated and talented Baker to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality baked goods and assisting with food production to enhance the dining experience for our residents.

As a Baker, you will play an important role in supporting resident satisfaction and quality of life by creating nutritious and appealing baked products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the dietary team to ensure residents receive exceptional service and enjoyable dining experiences every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods including breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts in accordance with approved recipes and dietary guidelines

  • Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and culinary team to support holiday meals, special events, and resident celebrations
