Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a Bagger to operate a bagging machine, ensuring proper fill, labeling accuracy, weight, and passing through metal detector before leaving the bagging area. The role may also perform other tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager.

You will work in production areas with exposure to strong aromas and dust, while lifting 50 lbs continuously and following safety policies. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a starting hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.
• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with good mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging machine to fill bags with products and ensure proper labeling and weight.
• Ensure labels match batch numbers and product codes.
• Return unused labels to the supervisor for recording.
• Clean machine and work area as required.
• Detect malfunctions of metal detectors and report to supervisor.
• Follow safety requirements and company policies.
• Notify supervisor and QC tech if metal detector triggers.
• Calibrate floor scale for accurate weights.
• Lift 20–40 lb bags as required.
• Operate automatic palletizer.

Job description

Summary:

The Bagger position is required to operate a bagging machine to properly fill bags with products, ensure proper labeling and weight, and ensure bags successfully pass through a metal detector before leaving the bagging area. The position may also be required to perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or the department manager.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure batch numbers and product code on the labels match with the product been dumped


• Stack bags neatly on skids as required and on the correct skid color.


• Return any unused label back to the Supervisor so that it can be recorded.


• Cleaning machine and work area as required.


• Detect any malfunction of the metal detector and rollers and report it to the supervisor.


• Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.


• Report all shortage to the lead operator.


• Notifies supervisor and QC tech if metal detector goes off.


• Calibrate floor scale for accurate weights.


• Lifts 20 - 40 lb bags consistently


• Operates automaticpalletizer.


• Ensures product samples are given to QC tech every 5th pallet


• Ensures Load Moved tickets are signed or initialed


• Makessure pack-list is completed for traceability.


• Requires climbing step ladders.


• Performs sanitation of all packaging equipment.


• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Salary:

• Starting at $19.18- $22.57 an hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred


• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, also with good mathematical skills.


• Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously

Work Environment:

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
