Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a Bagger to operate a bagging machine, ensure accurate labeling and weights, and verify products pass through a metal detector before shipment. The role involves duties assigned by shift supervisors and department managers and requires attention to safety and quality processes.

The position includes rotating tasks, maintaining cleanliness, and strict adherence to packing and traceability procedures within a production environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.
• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with good mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs continuously.

Responsibilities

• Ensure batch numbers and product codes on labels match the product being dumped.
• Stack bags neatly on skids as required and on the correct skid color.
• Return unused labels to the Supervisor for recording.
• Clean machine and work area as required.
• Detect any malfunction of the metal detector and rollers and report to the supervisor.
• Comply with safety requirements and company policies.
• Report shortages to the lead operator.
• Notify supervisor and QC tech if metal detector goes off.
• Calibrate floor scale for accurate weights.
• Lift 20-40 lb bags consistently.
• Operate automatic palletizer.
• Ensure product samples are given to QC tech every 5th pallet.
• Ensure Load Moved tickets are signed or initialed.
• Make sure pack-list is completed for traceability.
• Requires climbing step ladders.
• Perform sanitation of all packaging equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Summary:

The Bagger position is required to operate a bagging machine to properly fill bags with products, ensure proper labeling and weight, and ensure bags successfully pass through a metal detector before leaving the bagging area. The position may also be required to perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or the department manager.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure batch numbers and product code on the labels match with the product been dumped


• Stack bags neatly on skids as required and on the correct skid color.

Salary:

• Starting at $19.18- $22.57 an hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred


• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, also with good mathematical skills.


• Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously

Work Environment:

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
