Job summary

PMA is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager to oversee field execution of baggage handling system stabilization and improvement work at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This role will independently manage field workstreams, coordinate contractors, safety, quality, schedule, testing, commissioning, and closeout while navigating live baggage operations and potential shutdowns.

Qualifications

10+ years in construction management on technically complex projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience managing field activities, contractors, and shutdowns in active airport environments.
Experience with baggage handling or automated material-handling systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day field leadership for baggage handling system stabilization and improvement activities.
Plan and monitor field execution around live baggage operations and approved shutdown windows.
Ensure safety, QA/QC, testing, and documentation compliance.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces affecting baggage-system performance.
Support testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
Manage RFIs, submittals, deficiencies, and design clarifications.
