Job summary

PopUp Bagels is seeking a Bagel Chef/General Manager to own the shop's operations from kitchen to customer experience. You will lead a scratch-based kitchen, drive menu evolution, and manage P&L metrics while mentoring a growing team in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in restaurant management, strong leadership, and the ability to implement systems and processes. You will collaborate across departments, ensure DOH compliance, and foster community engagement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years minimum kitchen or operational restaurant management experience.
• Leadership to operate a scratch-based, evolving kitchen.
• Willingness to pitch in whenever necessary.
• Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• Ability to learn and use digital ordering systems.
• Department of Health/ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee entire shop operation including P&L responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Bagel Sous on QA and act on guest feedback.
• Manage new initiatives and launches with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Monitor operational flow and ensure DOH standards are followed.
• Troubleshoot technology, systems, and ordering platforms.
• Be the face of hospitality to guests and drivers; train concierge roles.
• Document employee relations conversations and escalate to HR.
• Recruit: interview, hire, and onboard culinarians.
• Review development plans with Field Leadership for succession.
• Lead daily pre-shifts and leadership meetings; communicate goals.
• Uphold anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
