Job summary

PopUp Bagels is seeking a Restaurant General Manager, known internally as the Bagel Chef, to lead both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. You will own store-level financial performance, develop the leadership team, ensure culinary and food-safety standards, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to build a self-sustaining shop.

Qualifications

• At least two years as a General Manager or equivalent store leader with full operational accountability.
• Three to five years of progressive restaurant management experience.
• Experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
• Strong business judgment and ability to interpret financial and operational information.
• Excellent communication, organization, delegation, conflict-resolution, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of daily shop operations and four-wall P&L performance.
• Drive sales, transactions, profitability, labor efficiency, food cost, waste reduction, and controllable expenses.
• Recruit, interview, select, onboard, train, coach, evaluate, and retain high-performing team members.
• Lead and develop assistant leadership, shift leaders, trainers, and hourly staff.
• Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
