Job summary

Allied Universal in Greenville, SC is seeking a Corrections Facility Security Officer - Badge Control. In this unarmed security role you will monitor access points, patrol interior and exterior areas, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service to staff and visitors.

The position is full-time with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour and requires a valid driver's license plus the ability to meet state licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, perimeter areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, visitor activity, and restricted areas in accordance with established post orders and facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate facility personnel and emergency responders as required.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation; communicate observations and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and authorized site contacts.
