Job summary

Allied Universal in Greenville, SC is seeking a Detention Security Guard – Badge Verification to protect staff and visitors at a government location. You will perform badge checks, monitor access, and respond to incidents in a professional, discreet manner.

The role is full-time with daytime/night shifts on a rotating schedule. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and meet licensing requirements; comprehensive benefits support health, retirement, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorization as directed, and maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation.
• Communicate professionally with facility personnel and Allied Universal leadership while supporting a controlled and orderly environment.
