Zusammenfassung

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Animal Industry, seeks a qualified candidate for the Bacteriology Section. The incumbent will perform veterinary diagnostic tests, isolate pathogens, and maintain accurate records in the LIMS system.

Responsibilities include culture preparation, QA documentation, and coordination with other sections. Occasional travel and PPE use are required; a valid Class E license may be necessary.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, physical, natural, or agricultural sciences.
• Some positions require meeting specific federal or state regulations identified by the employing agency.
• Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

Aufgaben

• Perform tests in the Bacteriology Section for veterinary laboratory work.
• Isolate and identify bacterial and mycotic pathogens from animals.
• Prepare culture slants of bacteria or fungi for submission to labs.
• Maintain QA practices and enter results into LIMS.
• Assist in shipping/receiving and data entry into LIMS; cross-train as needed.
• Archive target organisms for antimicrobial testing and sequencing programs.
• Notify supervisor of issues affecting laboratory operations.
