Job summary

Plastipak is hiring a Backup Yard Driver in Jackson Center, Ohio. You will operate a forklift to move materials between the warehouse and production areas and assist with trailer movement at docks. The role includes a 12-hour night shift on a rotating 2-week cycle with every other weekend off.

The position offers double-time pay on Sundays and a comprehensive benefits package. A valid driver's license, forklift experience, and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
• Minimum of six months of experience driving semi-trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between the warehouse and production areas.
• Load and unload trucks for Shipping & Receiving.
• Back up moving trailers from yard to assigned docks and secure them to prevent movement.
• Follow all company and local safety rules, BOS work instructions and SAP standards.

As a Backup Yard Driver, you safely & efficiently move materials between the warehouse and production areas using a forklift, as well as transport trailers across the external areas of the facility as needed. You Will

• Operate forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between the warehouse and production areas.
• Load and unload trucks for Shipping & Receiving
• Act as a backup to move trailers from yard area into assigned docks and then secures/locks trailer to assure no movement until released.
• Follows all company and local work rules, safety rules and policies, BOS work instructions and SAP standards and activities.

You Have

• Ability to work 12-hour Night Shift 5pm-5:10am on a 3-2-2-3 Schedule
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience
• Minimum of six months of experience driving semi-trailers. This can be through work experience &/or a training program.

You’ll Earn

• $20.50 per hour
• $1.50 more per hour for night shift differential
• Double-Time-Pay on Sundays (regular schedules are every other Sunday). That’s 12 hours of extra pay
