Job summary

PUSH Dance Company is seeking a calm, organized Backstage Manager for PUSHfest at The Sanctuary and Black Box Theater in San Francisco. You’ll coordinate backstage operations for a contemporary dance festival, serving as the main contact for 10+ choreographers and dancers, and assisting during tech rehearsals.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, communicate well under pressure, and anticipate needs. Dates include Oct 3–4 with flexible admin prep time; location is 447 Minna Street, SF.

• Highly organized and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Experience in stage management or live production is a plus.

• Support Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director during tech rehearsals.

Backstage Manager — PUSHfest Dance Festival

PUSH Dance Company seeks a calm, organized Backstage Manager for PUSHfest, our contemporary dance festival at The Sanctuary & Black Box Theater (447 Minna St, SF).

Oct 1–4 | ~20 hrs, contract | $25/hr or $500 flat

You’ll be the main point of contact for 10+ choreographers and dancers, support our Artistic Director & Associate Artistic Director during tech rehearsals, call places, manage backstage flow, and help reset The Sanctuary post-show.
Ideal candidates are highly organized, communicate well under pressure, and anticipate needs before being asked. Stage management or live production experience is a plus.

Dates: October 3 — 11 AM–6 PM (7 hours) October 4 — 11 AM–7 PM (8 hours) Admin & meeting prep — 5 hours (flexible timing)
