Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist in Wilmington, NC to oversee backroom accuracy, inventory integrity, and vendor receiving execution. You will manage product dating, beer/wine/spirits inventory, and ensure SOPs and store compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• 1–2 years of experience coordinating teams.
• Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department managers to oversee inbound/outbound deliveries and support inventory planning.
• Monitor and maintain days-on-hand inventory targets for all departments.
• Maintain beer, wine, and spirits inventory records and compliance with laws.
• Enforce store receiving protocols, including vendor security/backroom access control.
• Verify deliveries, truck seals, and electronic invoices for accurate processing.
• Partner with teams to resolve invoice and quantity discrepancies.
• Serve as primary contact for the Maintenance Dispatch Center for repairs tracking.
• Provide courteous interactions with vendors, team members, and guests.
