Job summary

US Foods in Tampa, FL is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to perform daytime receiving, tagging, and stocking duties. You will move product, verify quantities, and maintain inventory accuracy to support night shift efficiency.

You will operate pallet jacks and hi-lifts, follow safety rules, and participate in training with competitive hourly pay. Benefits start day one and include medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred; pallet jack or hi-lift experience preferred; foodservice experience preferred.
  • Ability to read/write legibly, perform basic math, communicate effectively, and use basic computer systems; certification in warehouse equipment; strong teamwork; ability to understand Voxware commands.

Responsibilities

  • Check inbound product identification against invoices and receiving paperwork to ensure correct pack/size, quantity, quality and temperature.
  • Check temperatures of inbound frozen/refrigerated products to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Verify quantity and adjust inventory; move received product from dock to warehouse slots using equipment.
  • Complete daily receiving paperwork per requirements and authenticate goods into inventory.
  • Transport pallet loads from dock to correct slots using powered equipment and secure pallets.
  • Replenish pick slots from reserve slots to maintain night shift inventory.
  • Record all product, equipment and warehouse damage.
  • Maintain clean aisles and follow safety policies at all times.

BASIC PURPOSE

Performs the daytime warehouse functions: receives inbound product from vendors, tags and records product, restocks product into the pick and reserve slots and replenishes pick slots by letting down product from the reserve slots. This makes sure that the division maintains proper inventory levels and that the inventory is in place for fast and accurate selection during the night shift. Such selection is key for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

SCHEDULE: Monday -Thursday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and Friday 11:00 am - 7:30 pm

PAY: $26.27 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Check inbound product identification against invoices and receiving paperwork to insure correct pack/size, quantity, product quality and temperature, pallet ti/hi, etc.
  • Check temperature of all inbound frozen and refrigerated products to ensure proper temperatures and compliance to U.S. Foodservice’s food safety and RRE requirements.
  • Verify quantity of each product to insure physical count agrees with shipping and receiving documentation; report any variances so that inventory levels are accurately adjusted in system. Move received product from the dock into the proper warehouse slots using forklift, pallet jack and hi-low.
  • Completes required paperwork for daily receiving, as per U.S. Foodservice, USDA and SOX requirements; sign and date to authenticate products received are placed into inventory.
  • Transport pallet loads of product from dock to correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and insures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when product is selected.
  • Replenish pick slots with product from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
  • Record all product, equipment and warehouse damage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from floor and racks
  • Follow safety policies and practices at all times
RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Day Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Control Clerk, Procurement Associates,

External: Outside Drivers, Lumper services

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Related Experience: Previous warehouse experience preferred; experience with pallet jack or high lift preferred; Foodservice experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly, basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide), good verbal communication skills; basic computer skills; Certification in warehouse equipment. Strong ability to get along with others. Must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24 and $29.
