Job summary

US Foods is hiring Night Warehouse Selectors to join our warehouse team. You will safely select customer orders, build/palletize and wrap pallets, and perform equipment checks using order selecting software.

This role requires reading and speaking English for training and reporting, with night shift hours typically Sunday–Thursday. Employees receive competitive hourly pay ($24.73–$26.73) plus incentive/OT, benefits from day one, and opportunities for growth within a large foodservice

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and communicate in English for trainings, safety coaching and reporting.
• Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, generally Sunday–Thursday; weekends/holidays as needed.
• Experience in high-endurance or physical work preferred (lifting and moving heavy loads).

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately select customer orders.
• Build and wrap pallets to meet weekly productivity and accuracy targets.
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and operate an electric pallet jack.
• Move products from racks to pallets as directed by order selecting software and equipment.
• Validate correct product and damage-free condition before pickup.
• Deliver products to the correct dock area and shrink-wrap pallets tightly.
• Clear aisles, remove debris and return pallets/jacks to charging area.

BASIC PURPOSE Performs the daytime warehouse functions: receives inbound product from vendors, tags and records product, restocks product into the pick and reserve slots and replenishes pick slots by letting down product from the reserve slots. This makes sure that the division maintains proper inventory levels and that the inventory is in place for fast and accurate selection during the night shift. Such selection is key for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The pay for the position: $24.73 - $26.73 per hr. • Safely and accurately select customer orders.
• Build and wrap pallets to meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet
• Carefully move products from racks to pallets directed by order selecting software and equipment
• Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage free
• Efficiently deliver products to correct dock area and shrink wraps palletized orders
• Team up to clear aisles of debris, stacks empty pallets from slots in aisle and return pallet jacks to charging area

What You Bring to the Table

• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read labels, and enter information on reports if needed
• Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday – Thursday. At times weekends and holidays will be required
• Recent experience (within past 6 months) in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred Lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, construction work, etc.
• Experience selecting large-scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred
• Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment preferred

Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees required
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively; moving 1,000+ cases of product during each shift required

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24.73 and $26.73 per hour. As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation, incentive compensation based on productivity and quality, and Freezer premium. Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
