Job summary

Aquarion Water Authority, based in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Cross Connection Inspector II to inspect customer premises, test backflow devices, and identify cross-connection risks. You will communicate corrective actions and costs to customers and contractors, and respond to service inquiries as needed.

Qualified candidates hold a Connecticut high school diploma, a valid CT driver’s license, and either a current CT Cross Connection Tester/Surveyor license or the ability to obtain it within 6

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license required.
• Must hold or be able to obtain Connecticut State Department of Public Health license as Cross Connection Tester and Cross Connection Surveyor within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect customer premises and identify cross-connection risks, communicate corrective action and costs to customers or contractors, and record data.
• Test and repair backflow prevention devices, determine operating status, record data and notify customers of compliance.
• Work with customers, contractors and health officials to correct violations and repair devices promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of cross-connection regulations and operate related equipment.
• Respond to customer service calls and represent the company on site.
• Locate service lines and curb boxes, install or repair piping as needed.
• Operate valves and hydrants and other related appurtenances.
