Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates Degree or higher preferred with an emphasis in a mechanical science.
• 3-5 years experience in water production and transmission.
• Good to excellent working knowledge of Federal, State and local requirements for Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections and field surveys, testing and maintenance of cross connection control devices and backflow assemblies to ensure protection of water supply systems.
• Assist Supervisor or program lead in coordinating local enforcement of the cross connection control program to ensure compliance with regulations, tariffs, and procedures.
• Provide training to personnel in the management of cross connection/backflow protection programs.
• Educate & train contractors, regulators, local officials and customers on cross connection/backflow protection program.
• Maintain database of backflow prevention assemblies used in AW water systems and applicable industrial/commercial water systems.
