Job summary

City of Winter Haven is seeking a Backflow Program Coordinator to perform inspections, install and maintain backflow assemblies, and coordinate cross-connection control programs within a municipal water system.

The role emphasizes reading plans and maps, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and educating staff and the public on backflow prevention. Requires experience and relevant certifications; a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent diploma.
• Five years of experience in backflow testing/repair or related field; tester certification preferred or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections for cross-connection control and backflow prevention.
• Install, test, and maintain City-owned backflow assemblies and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Maintain records of backflow inventory, test reports, inspections.
