City of Compton invites applications for a Backflow Technician under Water Production and Distribution. Under supervision, you test, maintain, and repair City-owned backflow assemblies and inspect new services to ensure the safety of the public water system.

You will perform annual cross-connection testing, collect samples, keep accurate records, respond to inquiries, and stay informed on changes in regulations.

Qualificações

• Minimum three years of experience in a water utility.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Grade I Water Treatment and Grade II Water Distribution certifications.
• Backflow Tester Certification (LA County or AWWA) required.

Responsabilidades

• Test, maintain and repair backflow assemblies to protect the public water system.
• Inspect and connect new services and collect samples for testing.
• Perform cross-connection surveys and resolve contractor inquiries.
• Maintain inspection records and coordinate communication with customers.
• Stay current with backflow prevention trends and regulatory changes.
