UMATR is a growing technology company building infrastructure that helps businesses work with real-time data and power the next generation of applications and AI systems. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team, focusing on scalable backend systems and solving complex problems around performance, reliability, and data.

You’ll own projects end to end, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to systems operating at significant scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems or data infrastructure.
• Willingness to learn Rust, C++, or Go; strong problem-solving.
• Strong communication and ownership of production projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and improve scalable backend systems.
• Work on challenging problems around performance, reliability and scalability.
• Take ownership of projects from initial design through to production.
• Debug complex issues across distributed systems and production environments.
• Improve system observability, reliability and automation.
• Collaborate with engineers and wider product teams to solve technical and customer challenges.
• Contribute to technical design, documentation and engineering best practices.
• Help simplify complex systems and continuously improve the overall platform.
