Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Backend) in New York to own the booking domain and the external API used by distribution partners. You will lead architecture, drive the technical roadmap and deliver robust, scalable solutions in a stack centered on Ruby on Rails, Postgres and AWS, with Node.js also in use.

This on-site role features a four‑day working week, stock options, unlimited PTO, a training stipend, and clear pathways for promotion and long‑term

Qualifications

• Experience leading backend architecture and delivery of high‑impact systems.
• Hands-on with transactional backends and external APIs.
• Ability to own domain from design through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own the booking domain and external API for partner integrations.
• Lead architecture, technical roadmap and hands-on backend development.
• Build reliable transactional workflows (inventory, idempotency, concurrency, webhooks).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship features end‑to‑end.
