Job summary

ResortPass, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer to lead the evolution of our booking platform and external API. You will work on a production Rails/OpenSearch and Postgres system, shaping architecture and guiding backend engineers to deliver reliable, scalable bookings.

You will partner with engineering leadership and product teams to drive the roadmap, ensure performance and reliability, and mentor others while maintaining pragmatic, hands-on coding ownership.

Qualifications

• Experience designing transactional systems and APIs used by other teams.
• Strong background in distributed systems, concurrency, and data integrity.
• Hands-on engineering leadership with ability to guide architecture and code.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of booking platform and external API.
• Write core production code and guide implementation with backend engineers.
• Establish reliability targets, retries, timeouts, and idempotency patterns.
• Mentor and review designs, ensure production readiness and safe rollbacks.
