Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of an external booking API and drive system-wide technical decisions from NYC. The role focuses on building robust, transactional workflows with Postgres on AWS, aligning with a Staff-level trajectory as the product scales.

You will partner with a Staff Engineer, work Monday–Thursday in NYC, and receive stock options, unlimited PTO, and a training stipend to support ongoing growth.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Owns systems end-to-end and sets patterns for other engineers.
• Able to be in New York 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own API design and day-to-day technical decisions for an external booking API.
• Build transactional workflows: inventory constraints, idempotency, concurrency, webhooks, failure recovery.
• Evolve booking domain/data models supporting multiple product categories and integrations.
• On-site role in NYC, Monday–Thursday 9:30am - 5:30pm.
