Job summary

Tillster is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Back End) to design, develop, and maintain cloud‑based microservices.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions that meet business needs while following best practices, including design patterns, architectural patterns, thorough testing methodologies, and modern AI developer tools to accelerate quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years designing and developing service-oriented applications.
• Experience with microservice-based systems and APIs.
• Proficiency in modern languages, with TypeScript preferred.
• Ability to integrate AI tools into daily workflow while validating code.
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL data stores.
• Knowledge of design patterns and architecture patterns.
• Excellent English communication, both written and verbal.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Understanding of security practices (OAuth, JWT, encryption).
• BS in CS or equivalent experience, AWS serverless familiarity a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; fast learner.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, secure microservices on AWS using TypeScript.
• Apply design patterns and architectural best practices.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, testing and refactoring.
• Develop APIs ensuring modular, scalable services.
• Implement robust unit, integration and end-to-end tests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and team planning.
• Conduct code reviews focused on security and quality.
• Contribute to architecture design sessions and decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners.
• Pursue continuous learning and skill development.
