Job summary

Interamerican Hellenic Life Insurance Company S.A. in Greece is seeking a Backend Software Engineer who builds long-lived systems with strong engineering fundamentals, not chasing trends.

You will design back-office Java platforms, model domains, build APIs and relational data models, and ensure robust test coverage through automated tests while collaborating with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders using Domain-Driven Design practices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java backend development and object-oriented design principles.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building REST and/or SOAP APIs.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design concepts and event-driven modeling.
• Experience with Git, Maven and Linux environments.
• Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration/API).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement back-office systems on the Java platform.
• Contribute to domain modeling and bounded context design.
• Build full-stack applications with APIs/messaging and relational schemas.
• Develop maintainable, testable software with strong automated tests.
• Participate in design discussions and architecture refinement.
• Refactor and modernize existing systems incrementally.
• Document designs and business rules.
• Support engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
