Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Backend Software Engineering Intern to own a backend project end-to-end and ship software on a live financial platform. You’ll work directly with experienced engineers and contribute to the core services powering brokerage, crypto, and payments.

The role is based in Menlo Park, CA, Bellevue, WA, or New York, NY, with in-person attendance at least 3 days per week, in a fast-paced fintech environment that values impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals and best coding practices.
• Solid communication skills and ability to drive large projects forward.
• Prior software engineering experience from internships or projects.
• Familiarity with Python/Django or Go and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-impact backend project from scoping through launch.
• Collaborate with mentors and engineers to ship production-ready code.
• Design, build, test, and release software meeting scale & correctness needs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve critical problems.
• Maintain and scale codebase using Python/Django, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, AWS, Kubernetes.
