Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure powering its financial products. You will work across product, design, and data teams to deliver scalable, reliable services that impact millions of users.

The role offers a chance to learn the US financial system and contribute to high-impact features. The position is based in Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python/Django or Go (or similar backend technologies).
• Solid understanding of relational databases and transaction-safe design.
• Curiosity and interest in financial systems or a strong desire to learn.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and release backend systems with high correctness, reliability, and scalability requirements.
• Own and maintain key services that power our financial product ecosystem.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering and business challenges.
• Interface with external financial institutions to integrate services and expand capabilities.
• Contribute to shaping engineering best practices and improving developer workflows.
