Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Developer for the Backend Platform team in New York City. You will set technical direction, lead multi-team initiatives, and shape platform capabilities for scalable backend systems.

Expect to partner with infrastructure, security, and product engineering to drive improvements, mentor engineers, and ensure long-term reliability. In-person work is expected 3 days a week in NYC, with competitive compensation, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and scaling backend systems with Go and Python.
• Deep knowledge of Django, gRPC, or similar Go frameworks.
• Experience designing internal platforms and developer tooling used by multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead large-scale backend initiatives, improving frameworks and libraries.
• Design long-term solutions for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Guide evolution of core tooling like static analysis and service scaffolding.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and product teams to plan platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and improve code quality and practices.
