Job summary

Speechify in Provo, Utah is seeking a Software Engineer for Platform to own backend services powering the public TTS API, payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web.

You will design, build, and scale APIs, ensure correctness across multiple clients, and automate repetitive work so you can focus on higher-impact tasks while collaborating with product, mobile, and web teams to keep architecture ahead of the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience in TS/Node
• Direct experience with cloud (GCP)
• Preferred: Docker and Kubernetes deployments

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, consumption tracking, and our public TTS API
• Take on services you didn’t write and make them faster, cheaper, and harder to break
• Establish that a change is correct before it ships and leave behind checks for future correctness
• Automate the parts of your role that shouldn’t need a person
• Turn work you’ve done once into work the whole team can repeat
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on top of us
• Work with product, mobile, and web to keep backend architecture ahead of where the product is going
