Job summary

Expedia Group is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to join the InsurTech team on Seattle campus. The role prioritizes backend development, scalable APIs, and pricing/fintech systems within a high-scale distributed environment.

You will design and operate backend services, collaborate across pricing, checkout, and servicing systems, and contribute to fast, impactful product launches. In-office presence is required three days weekly in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building backend services and APIs in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-throughput backend services powering insurance and fintech products across the Expedia platform.
• Lead and contribute to cross-team initiatives requiring coordination across pricing, checkout, booking, servicing, etc.
• Develop scalable APIs, pricing engines, and data models for dynamic offerings.
• Contribute to zero-to-one product launches and iteratively improve post-launch capabilities across brands and markets.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with focus on performance and reliability.
