Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building backend services and APIs in distributed systems.
• Experience with system design for scalable, high-availability platforms.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
• Experience working in AWS.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows or AI/ML-enabled systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-throughput backend services that power insurance and fintech products across the Expedia platform.
• Lead and contribute to cross-team initiatives requiring coordination across many systems (pricing, checkout, booking, servicing).
• Develop scalable APIs, pricing engines, and data models for dynamic product offerings.
• Contribute to zero-to-one product launches and iterate post-launch across brands and markets.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code with focus on performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within distributed, high-scale systems.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
• Participate in on-call rotation (about once per quarter).
