Job summary

Ennoble First is seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to support an Intelligence Community customer in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This position supports a high-visibility, data-driven application used across the organization for analytics and reporting.

The Backend Software Engineer will build and maintain core backend services, develop RESTful APIs, support data-driven functionality, and contribute to ongoing system enhancements within a Linux-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 4–8 years of experience, or Master's with 2–6 years.
• Experience developing object-oriented applications in Java or Python.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs and SQL queries.
• Working knowledge of Linux-based environments and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend components using Java or Python.
• Develop RESTful services and support system integrations.
• Apply OO design to build scalable, maintainable systems.
• Write SQL queries and support data retrieval for tooling.
• Collaborate to integrate data sources and support backend workflows.
• Develop and troubleshoot in Linux environments and ensure reliability.
