Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Backend Engineer to help build foundational systems for a platform that manages and automates satellite operations. This hands-on role focuses on Python, with ownership across the backend and collaboration with platform, frontend, command-and-control, and aerospace-operations teams.

You’ll contribute to production-grade services, design robust APIs, and deploy in Kubernetes, AWS, and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend or full-stack software development experience
• Experience building production software used by real customers
• Experience designing, developing and troubleshooting APIs
• Experience with Kubernetes or a Kubernetes-centric environment
• General cloud and container experience
• Ability to work across multiple backend services
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
• High standards for software quality and maintainability

Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade backend applications and services in Python
• Design, build and maintain scalable APIs
• Ensure reliability and performance of software in live customer environments
• Work across multiple backend services and projects
• Deploy and troubleshoot applications in Kubernetes environments
• Support software deployed in AWS and on-premises environments
• Collaborate with platform engineers on backend architecture decisions
• Improve scalability, resilience and performance of the platform
