Job summary

Resend is building the most accessible email platform for developers, with over 4 million users. We're a fully remote team of 50 across 15 countries, backed by a16z and Y Combinator.

You will design and operate the email transport infrastructure, including SMTP delivery and MTA systems, with a focus on reliability and scalability. This role emphasizes building robust queues, rate-limited flows, and observability to reduce blast radius across the system.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable backend systems for high-volume delivery.
• Strong knowledge of distributed architectures, queues, retries.
• Familiarity with observability practices and reliability engineering.
• Bonus for TypeScript and Go experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Resend's email transport infrastructure, including SMTP delivery and MTA systems.
• Design systems for throttling, IP pools, warmup execution, and reputation-aware routing.
• Partner with Trust & Safety to build controls that protect the sending network from abuse.
